I've ridden with the Boogie Man
from sea to shining sea
He's worn most every disgusie there is
and brought me to my knees.
He's poured himself from big ol' bottles
and come powdered in snowy seals
He's been Mother's Little Helper
In all size and shapes of pills.
And I know,
I know so god damn well
That sooner or later he'll be there waiting
and I will take my fill
The best I've done is temper him
and put him in his place
I live my life as best I can
And smiled to hide my fate.
Sometimes he seems so far away
and sometimes I feel him breathing
But since he picked me as his ride
I've been in constant healing.
Boogie man ya gotta go
your ride is getting older
I can keep you at bay for quite a while
but you keep getting bolder.
Early morning meanderings -
lifelong thoughts
